The short answer
An API is an agreed way for one program to ask another for something — «send this message» or «give me this order's status» — and get the answer in a fixed format. An API key is a long password proving who is asking. A webhook is the reverse: the other program tells you when something happens.

Why does API matter to a seller?
Because an API lets systems work together without copying by hand: your store tells the courier, the booking system sends a WhatsApp reminder, and the order lands in your sheet. WhatsApp Business itself runs through Meta's official API.
API in ArabyBot
ArabyBot has five doors for developers: a keyed send API that sends a template or text and returns each message's status, an order-intake webhook for any platform, a cart-events webhook, a verification-code API, and the AI agent calling your system through webhook tools and MCP servers. Details in the developer guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an API and a webhook?
With an API you ask and the system answers; with a webhook the system calls you when something happens.
Where do I find an API key in ArabyBot?
From «Developer tools» on the plans that include the send API; they are listed on the WhatsApp API integration page.
Do I need a developer?
For the API, yes; linking ready-made store platforms takes one click with no code.
