The short answer

You connect Tap with your secret key in “Shipping & payment” → “Payment methods”, and the customer gets Tap's page with every method enabled on your Tap account: mada, Apple Pay and cards in Saudi Arabia, and cards and Apple Pay in the UAE and Qatar. It works for a store selling in Saudi riyals, UAE dirhams or Qatari riyals.

The steps in the store panel

  1. Enable the methods on your Tap account

What the customer sees is what Tap enabled on your account: mada, Apple Pay and cards depending on your country.

  2. Open payment methods

In “Shipping & payment” pick “Payment methods”; Tap shows for a store in Saudi riyals, UAE dirhams or Qatari riyals.

  3. Paste the key and enable

On the Tap card tick “Enable”, paste the secret key and “Save”; it is tested with Tap.

  4. Try a payment

Order from your store and choose online payment; Tap's page opens with your methods, then returns to your store.

What you should know

  • Tap works in the store in Saudi riyals, UAE dirhams and Qatari riyals. KNET in Kuwait and Benefit in Bahrain run in dinars, and the Kuwaiti and Bahraini dinars and the Omani rial are not yet open as store currencies because they carry three decimals.
  • Tap's server notice is signed, so a forged one is dropped before it is looked at, and the payment is read from Tap itself.
  • The fee on each payment is set by your Tap contract, and the money never passes through ArabyBot.

Does Tap work in Egypt or Jordan?

Not in the store at the moment; in Egypt connect Kashier or Paymob. Connecting Paymob and Kashier.

2

Can I enable Tap and Tabby together?

Yes, so the customer pays at once through Tap or in instalments through Tabby or Tamara.
