What is a webhook? Explained with a store example

The short answer
A webhook is a link you give a system, which then sends it a message automatically whenever something happens: a new order, an order status change, a payment. Your system no longer has to ask every minute «anything new?»; the news reaches it the moment it happens.

Why does Webhook matter to a seller?
Because it links your systems without manual copying: a new order reaches the accounting or warehouse software at once. Signing the message protects you from fake messages claiming to come from the system.
Webhook in ArabyBot
In ArabyBot Store new orders and their status changes are sent to up to three HTTPS links, signed with a signature you verify. In Smart Jobs your system hears of every confirmation, cancellation or payment, and the AI agent can call your tools through a webhook.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a webhook and an API?
With an API your system asks and gets an answer; with a webhook the other system sends the news by itself when it happens.
Why is a webhook signed?
So your system can confirm the message really came from the source and was not altered on the way.
