WhatsApp bot for shipping and delivery companies — "where is my parcel?" and delivery confirmation
On this page 6
The problem, and the answer
"Where is my parcel?" is most of the calls, and the second delivery attempt costs twice the first because nobody asked the customer when they would be in.
Parcel status by tracking number from your file or system, a notification when out for delivery and on delivery, and a question to the customer before a second attempt — fewer calls, fewer returned parcels.
Also asked as: «بوت واتساب لشركة شحن» · «بوت يرد فين شحنتي» · «تتبع الشحنة عبر واتساب» · «أبي بوت لشركة التوصيل»
How it actually works
- Answers the parcel status instantly
The customer sends the tracking number or their phone, and the bot reads the status from your file or system and replies with it and the expected date as recorded.
- Notifies when out for delivery
An approved-template message with the driver's name, the expected window and one question: are you in? A "no" opens a choice of another day.
- Confirms delivery or records the reason
On delivery a confirmation and a rating question. On failure a message asking the customer for a suitable time instead of a blind retry.
- Hands over what it cannot do
Address changes, a complaint about a driver, a damaged parcel — recorded and delivered to a teammate on the app with the full conversation.
You upload your prices, your hours and your terms, and the agent answers from them. If an answer is not in your files it says so and hands over to a person — it does not invent one. That is not an optional setting, it is how it works.
And what the bot will not do here
The bot guesses no status it has not read: it answers from a status file you update or from your system through the API, and if the tracking number is not found it says so and hands over. It promises no delivery time finer than your system holds, and changes no address itself — it records the request and passes it on.
And the number worth measuring
The number that matters in delivery is the first-attempt delivery rate. A message before going out that asks "are you in today?" turns a failed attempt into a suitable time, and every second attempt that never happened is a direct saving. The second number: the "where is my parcel?" calls that no longer arrive.
Not only WhatsApp
The same agent answers on Instagram, Messenger, Facebook comments and TikTok, in the same inbox. The customer who commented on a post and the one who sent a message are the same person — and you see them that way.
Frequently asked
How does the bot know the parcel status?
One of two ways: a status file you update (tracking number, status, expected date) that the bot reads at the moment of the question, or your system connected through the API so it reads the live status. The first works in a day; the second needs a developer once.
Are notification messages billed?
A notification you start is a utility template at Meta's rate for the country on your own account; the customer's reply and everything after it is free. One "out for delivery" message costs less than one call, and far less than a second delivery attempt.
