WhatsApp bot for pharmacies — availability, delivery and refill reminders
On this page 6
The problem, and the answer
Rush-hour "in stock?" messages go unanswered and the customer buys from the next pharmacy, and delivery orders arrive incomplete — no address, no prescription photo.
"In stock?", "do you deliver to me?" and "how much?" answered from your list, orders taken with a photo of the prescription and confirmed before delivery, and a monthly refill reminder — and the bot recommends no medicine and gives no dose.

How it actually works
- Answers availability, price and delivery
From your product list, prices, delivery areas and fees. Anything not in the list gets "I will ask the pharmacist" and a hand-off.
- Takes a complete order
Asks for the prescription photo or the item names, then the address and phone, and reads the summary back for confirmation.
- Passes to the pharmacist before confirming
The order reaches the pharmacist on the app with the photo; they confirm or ask, and the bot tells the customer the outcome and the delivery time.
- Reminds about the refill
For monthly medication, a reminder a few days before it runs out, on your timing; a "yes" opens a new order to the same address.
You upload your prices, your hours and your terms, and the agent answers from them. If an answer is not in your files it says so and hands over to a person — it does not invent one. That is not an optional setting, it is how it works.
And what the bot will not do here
The bot suggests no medicine, no substitute and no dose, and never answers "what do I take for these symptoms?" — that always goes to the pharmacist. It answers availability, price, delivery areas and fees, and opening hours only, takes the prescription photo, asks for the address and phone, then passes the order to the pharmacist to review before confirmation. Restricted medicines are flagged in your file so it takes no order for them at all.
And the number worth measuring
The number that matters in a pharmacy is orders complete on the first pass: photo, address and phone in place before a person touches them. An incomplete order means a call, and a call at rush hour means another order left unanswered. The second number: how many chronic patients came back for a refill from your reminder rather than another pharmacy.
Not only WhatsApp
The same agent answers on Instagram, Messenger, Facebook comments and TikTok, in the same inbox. The customer who commented on a post and the one who sent a message are the same person — and you see them that way.
Frequently asked
Will the bot sell prescription medicine without a prescription?
No. Items that need a prescription are flagged in your file, so the bot asks for its photo before passing the order on, and confirms nothing itself — confirmation is always the pharmacist's. Restricted items take no order at all.
I have two branches with different stock — how does it know what is in?
Either a list per branch the bot reads according to the area the customer names, or it quotes the price and says availability is confirmed by the branch on hand-off. The honest choice is whichever matches what you actually keep; the bot never says "in stock" about an item it did not read.
