The short answer

Phase 1 works from settings: once your VAT number is in, every order's invoice becomes a simplified tax invoice with a ZATCA-compliant QR code. For phase 2 you enter your tax details under "E-invoicing", then the one-time code from the FATOORA portal, and the platform issues an invoice for every paid or delivered order and reports it to ZATCA. The service is ready and has passed ZATCA's sandbox.

The steps in the store panel

  1. Set the country and VAT

In "Settings" → "Shop details" make sure the country is Saudi Arabia and "VAT %" is 15, enter your "VAT number" and press "Save". From then on invoices carry the phase-1 QR code.

  2. Open E-invoicing

In "Settings" open the "E-invoicing" card; it appears only for stores whose country is Saudi Arabia.

  3. Enter your tax details

In "1. Your tax details" enter the registered name, the 15-digit VAT number, the 10-digit commercial registration number, the business type and the national address as on your certificate, then press "Save the details".

  4. Get the code from FATOORA

Sign in to the FATOORA portal with your business account, choose "Onboard new solution unit" and request a one-time code (OTP), valid for one hour.

  5. Activate

Enter the code in "One-time code (6 digits)" and press "Switch e-invoicing on". The platform creates your signing key and certificate and sends the test invoices ZATCA asks for; sent invoices then appear under "Documents sent".

Your tax details as on the registration certificate, then the code from the Fatoora portal

What you should know

  • Once active, every delivered or paid order gets a signed e-invoice reported to ZATCA within minutes, and every return gets a credit note.
  • Phase 2 is ready and has passed ZATCA's sandbox, with no developer or accounting software needed.
  • Your business must be VAT-registered, the store VAT rate must be above zero, and the store country must be Saudi Arabia.
  • The FATOORA code is valid for one hour; if it expires, request a new one, and you can renew the link later with the renew-with-a-new-code button.
  • E-invoices are tax records: they are kept and never removed by the store's routine log clean-up.
The requirements, and the invoices sent: one per order and a credit note per return

What is enough for phase 1?

Entering your VAT number in "Shop details" is enough: every order's invoice becomes a simplified tax invoice whose QR code, in ZATCA's format, carries your store name, VAT number, date, total and VAT.
