Can I use the WhatsApp API without a provider?
Yes. Meta offers the Cloud API directly to any business with a business account, and hosting is free. But you build the webhook server that receives messages, the reply interface and whatever the team needs yourself. A platform saves that build, and does not change Meta's fees if it adds no margin.
What does Meta's AI agent cost?
Since 1 August 2026 Meta Business Agent is billed at $2 per million tokens, which Meta estimates at about 4 to 5 cents per message. When a platform answers with third-party AI, the reply counts as an ordinary service message, not per token, and is never charged twice.
Is the WhatsApp Cloud API free?
Hosting is free from Meta, but messages are not: Meta charges for marketing, utility and authentication messages by the customer's country.
