The short answer

You set the return window (such as 14 days from delivery), and the customer requests a return from their account on a delivered order. A «Return request from the customer» reaches the order page: «Accept and record the return» records it with the amount the customer paid for those items and puts stock back if you choose, and «Decline» comes with a reply the customer sees in their account.

The steps in the store panel

  1. Set the return window

Set how many days after delivery a return request is accepted.

  2. Review the request

A «Return request from the customer» shows on the order page as «Awaiting your decision», with the items and their amount.

  3. Accept or decline

«Accept and record the return» records it, and you refund the customer yourself; or «Decline» and write «Your reply to the customer».

What you should know

  • A request is open on a delivered order of the customer's own number, for items not already returned, one open request per order, and the free gift is not returnable.
  • The amount is worked out from what the customer actually paid for those items.
  • Nothing is sent to the customer from here; they see the decision and reply in their store account.
