The short answer

For most stores a well-made ready template is enough once you set its colours, font and photos, and a custom design earns its price when the brand is known or the way of selling is unusual and there is a budget to maintain it. A design that sells on a phone is clear in its first screen, photo, price, trust signals and a short checkout. ArabyBot Store has six live Arabic templates, the first one free, and its AI writes descriptions and SEO fields rather than designing the store.

Ready template or custom design: which is better for a professional online store?

A ready template is better for most stores at the start: its structure is tested on phones, the platform keeps it updated, and the store launches without waiting for a designer and a developer. A custom design earns its price when your brand is known and has a drawn identity, or when you sell in a way no template serves, and you have a budget to maintain it after delivery.

A ready template suits most new stores; custom design is for a known brand

Between the two there is a third route most merchants take: a ready template with your own identity — your logo, colour, font, photos and banners. Most of the sameness merchants fear disappears with original product photos and copy written in your customers' language; a shopper remembers the product and the photo before noticing the card style. Spend on a designer where it pays: the logo and product photos, not rebuilding a proven cart.

What makes an online store design sell on a phone?

Five things decide a sale on a phone screen: a first screen that says what you sell and to whom, a clear product photo for every colour, a price shown without ambiguity along with shipping and delivery time, trust signals before the order button, and a short checkout with no forced sign-up. Everything else is decoration that comes after.

A product card on a phone, and the five things that win the sale before any decoration
  • The first screen. The logo, a line saying what you sell, a banner with one offer rather than five rotating ones, and the categories within thumb reach. A shopper arriving from an ad decides on this screen whether to go on.
  • The product photo. One ratio for all cards so the grid stays even, a calm background, and a photo per colour that switches when the shopper picks it; one photo for a product in three colours means questions and returns.
  • Price clarity. The price, the compare-at price and quantity offers near the photo, and the shipping fee and delivery time before checkout, not inside it. Our templates show an «arrives within…» line on the product page and a bar showing how much is left to free shipping.
  • Trust. Reviews with photos from verified buyers, a link to the returns policy, and cash on delivery visible if you sell with it. Avoid fake counters and countdowns that reset to zero; shoppers find them out, which is why our store only shows real figures such as a «sold» count taken from actual orders.
  • A short checkout. One checkout page, ordering without creating an account, and no more fields than delivery needs. On the phone, a fixed bottom bar with home, categories, search and cart helps.

A merchant selling one product from ads often needs a page different from the whole store: a landing page with the order form inside it, covered in the single-product landing page guide.

How does an Arabic right-to-left online store design differ?

Arabic design is not a translation of an English one: the whole page mirrors, so the menu, arrows and image order start from the right, Arabic type needs a larger size and more line spacing to read on a phone, and the price and currency must stay together in a fixed order where Arabic text mixes with numbers and English words.

Type

Choose a typeface designed for Arabic screens, and stop at one or two: one for headings, one for reading. ArabyBot Store has ten Arabic fonts: Cairo, Tajawal, Almarai, IBM Plex Sans Arabic, Alexandria, Readex Pro, Noto Kufi Arabic, Changa, El Messiri and Amiri. Plain geometric faces read better in prices and small text, while calligraphic faces suit headings more than paragraphs.

Numbers and currency

Pick one numeral system and keep it across the price, cart, invoice and messages. Our templates write prices with the digits 0–9 and a thousands separator, the number first and then the currency, as in «1,250.00 EGP», and the price is isolated from the text around it so its order never flips inside an Arabic sentence. In Saudi stores the new riyal symbol appears as a vector mark after the number.

Mixed text and a second language

English model names and sizes inside an Arabic title need isolating so their order does not scatter, and that is tested on a phone, not a desktop. If some customers do not read Arabic, switch on the optional English storefront rather than machine translation inside the Arabic page.

How do you make your online store design fast on a phone?

Speed is part of the design, not a technical add-on after it: images at the size they are shown and in a light format, few fonts, limited motion, and elements that do not jump while loading. Google publishes thresholds for a «good» experience that it measures pages by, so make them your reference instead of your impression on a fast office connection.

The three Core Web Vitals and their thresholds, and what the store does with your photos
Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds
MetricWhat it measuresGoogle's «good» threshold
LCP (Largest Contentful Paint)When the largest element on the first screen appears, usually the banner or product photoWithin 2.5 seconds of the page starting to load
INP (Interaction to Next Paint)How fast the page responds when the shopper taps a button or picks a size200 milliseconds or less
CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift)How much elements jump while loading, so the shopper taps something they did not mean to0.1 or less

According to Google's page on Core Web Vitals (web.dev), these thresholds are measured at the 75th percentile of page loads, for mobile and desktop separately; in other words, at least three quarters of your visits should meet them.

What the store does for you: every image you upload is re-encoded, stripped of metadata and capped at 1600 pixels wide, and WebP copies are saved at 480 and 960 pixels plus a large one, so a phone loads the smallest that fits. Each store's catalogue is kept in a cache. What stays with you: photos with a consistent background, few home sections, and one strong banner instead of a long rotation.

Dark mode

Many shoppers set their phones to dark mode, and every template in our store has light, dark and automatic modes, the last following the phone. Before choosing dark or automatic, open your product pages in it: photos cut out on a white background show up as bright boxes on a dark page.

The store on the home screen

The store installs on the shopper's phone as a web app (PWA) with your store's name and icon, so they return to it from the home screen without searching. It is not an app on Google Play or the App Store under your name.

What does AI do in online store design?

On ArabyBot Store, AI does not design the store or generate templates; its job is writing: the product description with its SEO title and description, a whole product from a photo, a first draft of a product landing page, the store's English translation, and blog drafts. The colours, font and look are set by the trade you pick at setup, then by your own hand.

  • «Write the description and SEO». It writes the product description, SEO title and SEO description, and you review and edit the text before saving. It also fills missing descriptions for many products at once.
  • «From the photo». You upload the product photo and it suggests the name, description and category.
  • The landing page. A first draft of the headline, benefits, FAQ and guarantee, then an A/B test picks the better version.
  • English and the blog. Translating the store into English for the optional storefront, and draft blog posts.
What these tools need to work

AI writing runs on the AI provider set up in your account and from its balance, so it does not work if the account has no provider or no balance. What it writes for the store's pages is a draft you review and edit before saving.

Your store's first look does not come from AI but from a preset for each of the eight trades: fashion, for example, starts with the Alexandria font and sharp corners, food with Changa and round corners, electronics with IBM Plex Sans Arabic, and each trade has its colour, first categories and a fitting announcement line. All of it changes with a tap.

There are tools on the market that generate a whole site from one sentence, and they can be a quick start for a first idea. Before selling from one, open it on a phone and check three things: the Arabic page direction, the loading speed against the metrics above, and the length of the path from product to completed order.

What ready online store templates does ArabyBot Store have?

Six Arabic templates, each with a different structure for the product page, category and cart, not just different colours: «Naseem» is free and every new store starts on it, while «Daw», «Riwaq», «Sidra», «Hams» and «Malaab» are paid once per store. Each template runs right now as a live store with products you can open on your phone.

ArabyBot Store templates and their live stores
TemplateLive storeLive store's tradePrice
Naseem«Lamsa» demo.arabybot.storeFashion and accessoriesFree — every new store starts on it
Daw«Volt» volt.arabybot.storeElectronicsPaid, once per store
Riwaq«Kattan» kattan.arabybot.storeClothingPaid, once per store
Sidra«Raheeq» raheeq.arabybot.storeCoffee, sweets and giftsPaid, once per store
Hams«Anbar» anbar.arabybot.storeJewellery and fine giftsPaid, once per store
Malaab«Hadaf» sport.arabybot.storeSportswear and gearPaid, once per store

A live store's trade is an example, not a restriction: «Hams» works beyond jewellery, and «Malaab» beyond sport. A new store does not start empty: it is filled with the free template's sample content (categories, products and banners) so you see the whole look, and you delete it in one click once you add your products. Pictures of every template are in the templates section of the store page.

How do you design your online store on ArabyBot Store, step by step?

You start from your trade, which sets the colour, font and look, then pick a ready look with one tap, adjust the header, hero, cards and product page, make a banner from your product photo, and order the home sections. You see all of it in a live preview of the real store before saving.

  1. Pick your trade

Eight trades, each with a colour, font, look, first categories and an announcement line. A starting point, not a restriction; all of it changes later.

  2. Walk through the live templates and pick yours

Open the six stores on your phone, start on the free «Naseem», and buy another template once, from the wallet or by card, if its structure suits your product better.

  3. Pick a look with one tap

Each template has ready looks that change colour, font and corners together; «Naseem», for example, has «Clear», «Night», «Warm», «Calm», «Souq» and «Refined».

  4. Set your identity

The logo, the store colour, one of the ten fonts, the corner shape (sharp, soft or round), and the announcement bar at the top of the pages.

  5. Adjust the template's parts

Depending on what the template offers: the header style, the hero (slider, image and text, or cover), how categories show, the card image ratio (tall or square), the product page layout (tabs, stacked sections or an accordion), the bottom bar on phones, and the footer.

  6. Make your banner

Choose a product photo, write the headline, a line under it, the button word and a discount badge if you like, pick the layout, and the banner is drawn in your store's colours and added to the home page with one tap. The words sit inside the image, so it shows correctly on phone and desktop.

  7. Order the home page and choose the mode

Put the home sections in the order you want, choose light, dark or automatic mode, and switch on the English storefront if you have customers who do not read Arabic.

  8. Preview and check

The live preview is your real store, and you tap any part of it to edit. Then run the 20-point «store checkup» to find what is missing before a shopper notices.

Everything ArabyBot Store offers beyond design — payment, shipping and the bot that sells from the store on WhatsApp — is on its page, the panel steps are in the help centre, and the steps to create the store from the start are in the guide to creating an online store.

Frequently asked questions about online store design

1

How much does a professional online store design cost?

It depends on the route: a ready template is free or paid once on the platform, while a custom design is quoted by a designer or agency according to the scope, plus ongoing maintenance. On ArabyBot Store the first template, «Naseem», is free with every design tool, and the other five templates are paid once per store.

2

Can I design my online store myself without a designer?

Yes, if you start from a ready template: you pick the template, look, font and colour, make the banner from your product photo, and see the result in a live preview before saving. What you cannot do without is good product photos and clear text, which do more than anything to make a store look professional.

3

Does AI design my whole online store?

Not on ArabyBot Store. Our AI writes: product descriptions and SEO fields, a whole product from a photo, a landing-page draft, the English translation and blog drafts, and you review what it wrote before saving. The look starts from the trade you pick, then you adjust it yourself.

4

Do my products change if I switch the store template?

No. Products, categories, orders and settings are data independent of the template; the template only changes how they are shown. The header, hero and card options belong to each template, so review them after switching.

5

Does the store design support dark mode?

Yes. Every template has light, dark and automatic modes, the last following the shopper's phone setting. Check your product photos in dark mode before choosing it, because white-background photos look like bright boxes there.

6

Can my store have an app on the phone?

The store installs on a phone as a web app (PWA) with your store's name and icon, so the shopper opens it from the home screen. It is not an app published on Google Play or the App Store under your name; that is not available today.

7

Can the store be in both Arabic and English?

Yes, with an optional English storefront you switch on from the store panel: English text per product, a button to switch languages, /en links with hreflang tags, and English pages in the sitemap. Right-to-left Arabic is the default.
