The short answer

An online store linked to WhatsApp is one whose order messages reach the shopper on WhatsApp, and where an AI bot reads the products, prices and stock at the moment of the question and records the order inside the chat. In ArabyBot Store the store sends a confirmation before shipping that closes when you confirm or cancel the order in the panel, reminds shoppers of abandoned carts, and tells customers when a product is back. The store also works without WhatsApp: orders reach the panel and you confirm them with a button.

What are the three ways to link an online store to WhatsApp?

There are three common ways to link an online store to WhatsApp: a button or link that opens a chat with the seller, an add-on installed over an existing store that sends confirmation and shipping messages, and a store built together with the bot as one product, where the bot reads the catalogue and records the order. Each does something well; the choice follows your order volume and how many people answer.

Way one: a WhatsApp button or link. A wa.me link with a prefilled message carrying the product name, placed on the product page or in the ad. It is the simplest and quickest: no Meta approval, no subscription, and it suits a small store whose owner answers personally. Its limit is that everything after the tap is manual: the price is typed by hand, the order is copied into a sheet or the store panel, and no confirmation goes out by itself. Make the link in a minute with the WhatsApp link generator.

Way two: an add-on over an existing store. Your store stays on its platform and a separate tool connects it to the official WhatsApp API, so shoppers receive the order confirmation and shipping messages automatically. Some of these tools also answer with AI from the store's products through the connection — ArabyBot's Shopify and WooCommerce connection among them. What it does well: you move nothing and your team changes no habit. Its limit: two systems, two dashboards and two subscriptions, and the connection can only do what the store platform's API exposes.

Way three: the store and the bot as one product. This is what ArabyBot Store is built on: there is no connection between two systems, because the bot reads the store's own tables, and an order it records in a chat goes through the same checkout steps a shopper takes on the site, landing in the same panel with its source. Its limit is plain too: if your store runs well on another platform, moving is real work — products, links and team habits — and connecting may be enough.

What does the WhatsApp bot do in a store it is built into?

In ArabyBot Store the bot reads products, sizes, colours, photos, quantity offers and stock straight from the store, so it quotes today's price rather than an old one, records the order inside the chat through the same checkout, follows up or cancels an earlier order, and answers about shipping, payment and returns from the store's own settings.

Here is what the bot does in detail; each item is a tool the bot calls on the store, not saved text:

  • It reads the store at the moment of the question. You upload no catalogue and train the bot on nothing; whatever you add to the store, the bot knows by its next reply.
  • It records the order through the same checkout. Quantity offers, shipping zones and fees, stock and the discount code are worked out as they are on the site, so no order is recorded at a wrong price or fee. The order counts as confirmed in the chat when its phone is the WhatsApp number talking to the bot.
  • It follows up and cancels. «Where is my order?» is answered from the order's status in the store, and it cancels an order when its owner asks.
  • It answers the store's policies. Shipping zones and fees, delivery times, payment methods, cash-on-delivery rules and the returns policy — and if the store is on vacation, it says so.
  • «Tell me when it is back». When a customer asks for a sold-out product the bot records the request, so a message reaches them when it returns.
  • A question on the page is answered on WhatsApp. A product question a visitor asks on the store page gets the bot's answer on WhatsApp straight away.

How the bot reads a store, ours or Shopify and WooCommerce, is in the guide to an agent that reads your store.

How does WhatsApp order confirmation before shipping work?

When a cash-on-delivery order arrives, the store sends the shopper's number a WhatsApp confirmation on a Meta-approved template; they reply confirm or cancel and the order's status changes in the panel. If you settle the order yourself — confirm or cancel it in the panel — the confirmation closes, so the shopper is never asked about an order that is already decided.

An order’s path from arrival to shipping, and when the confirmation closes by itself
  1. The order arrives as «new»

From the store pages, a product's landing page or a chat. It carries the «customer record»: first order, trusted, returned before, or blocked.

  2. The confirmation goes out

To the number the shopper typed, on a Meta-approved utility template, before the order is prepared for shipping.

  3. The shopper replies

Confirm or cancel, and the order's status changes in the panel without anyone on your team typing.

  4. Or you settle it

If you called the shopper and confirmed or cancelled from the panel, the open confirmation closes automatically.

  5. Then the status messages

Preparing, shipped and delivered reach the shopper on your WhatsApp templates, and order alerts reach you by e-mail.

The store has more protection before the message: at most three orders from one number in thirty minutes, blocked numbers, and — if you choose — no cash on delivery for anyone who refused a delivery before. Every way to cut returns is in the guide to reducing COD returns, and the confirmation service for any store is on the WhatsApp order confirmation page.

How does a WhatsApp-linked store recover abandoned carts and announce restocks?

If a shopper types their number at checkout and leaves without finishing, the store sends that number a WhatsApp reminder. When a customer asks about a sold-out product the bot records the request, and when the product is back in stock they get an automatic message. The first needs cart recovery in the bot package; the second needs an approved utility template.

A reminder for whoever left their number at checkout, and an alert for whoever asked about a sold-out item

The idea is the same in both: the message goes to a number its owner typed for a specific reason, not to a bought list. That keeps the store's messages within what WhatsApp allows, and keeps WhatsApp retargeting limited to people who agreed to receive offers. Other tools in the store rest on the same number: WhatsApp login, where the shopper sends a code to your store's number and enters their account with no password and no cost to you, and ready-order links you send in a chat that open the order page with the product already in it.

Abandoned-cart reminders for any store are detailed on the WhatsApp cart recovery page.

What does a WhatsApp store order-confirmation message cost?

The confirmation is a utility template, billed by Meta according to the shopper's country. From Meta's report of the traffic on our accounts: a message to an Egyptian number is $0.0036, about 0.20 EGP, and to a Saudi number $0.0107, about 0.04 SAR. So a thousand confirmations cost about 198 EGP in Egypt and about 40 SAR in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia$0.0107about 0.04 SARabout 40 SAR

Dollars are converted at 55 EGP and 3.75 SAR, and the price follows the shopper's country, not your store's: a Riyadh store confirming to an Egyptian number pays Egypt's rate. Three things lower the bill: an order placed in a chat from the shopper's own number needs no confirmation message, an order you settle by phone closes its confirmation, and the confirmation stays a utility message as long as it carries no marketing offer.

The bot's replies inside the chat are billed differently: Your replies inside the 24-hour window are free today — and from 1 October 2026 each phone number gets 1,000 free a month, with the rest charged at the customer's market utility rate. Details are in the guide to WhatsApp's new prices from October 2026, your own numbers in the WhatsApp cost calculator, and per-country rates in WhatsApp API pricing in Egypt and in Saudi Arabia.

What does a WhatsApp-linked store need to work?

The store alone is enough to take orders and confirm them from the panel. Automatic WhatsApp messages need three things: a WhatsApp Business number connected to the bot on the official WhatsApp API, message templates Meta approves, and a bot package that includes the service. AI replies from the store's products are part of the bot package.

The store panel has an «ArabyBot services» page that shows each service as it is: running, waiting for Meta to approve its message, one step short (the page shows the step), or not in your package. Before writing templates read why WhatsApp templates are rejected, and if your number is not on the official API yet, start with the WhatsApp Business API sign-up steps.

Should I link my current store to WhatsApp or move to a store with it built in?

If your store runs well on Shopify or WooCommerce, start by connecting it: order confirmation and shipping messages reach your customers, and the agent reads your products through the connection. Moving makes sense when most of your orders come from chats, or when you want the store, the bot and the orders in one account and one panel.

Connecting, step by step, is in the guide to connecting Shopify and WooCommerce to WhatsApp. If you choose to move, the ways available today are: a CSV file, including Shopify and WooCommerce exports; one product at a time from its link; or your Facebook and Instagram posts turned into products. Old links are redirected to the new ones automatically where their shape matches, so a visit from an old link is not lost.

A new store does not start empty: it is filled with a template and sample content for your trade, which you replace with your products or delete in one click, and it opens to shoppers once it has at least one product, one shipping zone and one payment method. See the templates as live stores in ArabyBot Store templates, every first step in the guide to creating an online store, and the whole picture on the ArabyBot Store page.

Frequently asked questions

1

Does the store work without connecting WhatsApp?

Yes. Orders reach the store panel as «new» and you confirm them with a button or through the store API; order alerts reach your e-mail. Connecting WhatsApp adds the confirmation before shipping, status messages, the abandoned-cart reminder and the bot that sells from the products.

2

Does the bot know about a price change or a sold-out product right away?

Yes, because it reads the store's own tables at the moment of the question and keeps no copy. Change a price and the next reply quotes the new one; if a size sells out the bot does not offer it as available, and offers to tell the customer when it is back.

3

Does the bot apply a store discount code?

Yes, when the order is placed: it checks the code against its rules in the store (minimum order, expiry, the products it covers) and then applies it. The coupons the bot offers on its own in a chat are the bot's own coupons, set in its settings, not the store's codes.

4

What does one WhatsApp order-confirmation message cost?

It is a utility message Meta bills by the shopper's country: $0.0036 to an Egyptian number (about 0.20 EGP) and $0.0107 to a Saudi number (about 0.04 SAR), from Meta's report of the traffic on our accounts. An order placed in a chat from the shopper's own number needs no confirmation message at all.

5

Do I have to move my store to link it to WhatsApp?

No. A Shopify or WooCommerce store connects to WhatsApp as it is for order confirmation and shipping alerts — see the store-to-WhatsApp guide. Moving is an option when you want the store and the bot in one account.

6

Does the bot sell from the store on Messenger and Instagram too?

Yes, the same agent answers from the store's products, prices and stock on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram. The confirmation before shipping and the order-status messages go out on WhatsApp.
