How do I add a teammate to ArabyBot and set their permissions?
The short answer
Permissions in ArabyBot come through a role: you create the role in "Team Manager" → "Team Roles", choosing the Pages, WhatsApp numbers and website chats it sees and the features it may use, then add the teammate in "Team Members" → "New Team Member" with an email and password and pick the role. The teammate signs in with their own account through "Login as Team" on the login page.
The steps in the ArabyBot dashboard
- Create a role
In the sidebar open "Team Manager" → "Team Roles" and press "New Role".
- Set what the role can see
In "Role Details" type the "Role Name" and choose the "Allowed Pages", "Allowed WhatsApp Numbers" and "Allowed Website Chats". An empty box means the role sees nothing on that channel.
- Set what the role can do
In "Module Permissions" switch on the features the role uses and pick Create, Update, Delete or Special for each. A feature switched on with nothing ticked means view only. The live chat rows also carry "Assign conversations". Then "Save".
- Add the teammate
Open "Team Manager" → "Team Members" and press "New Team Member", fill in the full name, email, mobile, password and password confirmation, choose the "Role", leave "Status" on "Active", then "Save".
- Tell the teammate how to sign in
The teammate opens the login page at app.arabybot.com, presses "Login as Team", then signs in with their email and password, and sees only the channels and features their role allows.
- Follow the team's performance
In "Team Manager" → "Team Performance" (when your package includes it) you see each teammate's average reply time, conversation count, missed messages and a monthly score the system calculates.
What you should know
- The number of teammate accounts follows your package limit; once reached, the page says you cannot create more team members.
- Team management belongs to the account owner alone: teammates do not see the roles and members pages, and a role cannot grant a feature your package does not include.
- Assigning conversations is a separate permission ("Assign conversations") that a teammate does not have unless their role grants it.
- From the inbox "Settings" you can make each teammate see only the conversations assigned to them, and the conversation tool "Hide from teammates" hides one conversation from chosen people.
- When a teammate replies in a conversation, the AI agent goes silent in it automatically for fifteen minutes after the last human reply.
- Each teammate's email must not already belong to another active teammate.
Related questions
Can a teammate see colleagues' conversations?
They see conversations on the Pages, numbers and website chats their role allows. If you switch on "Agents see only their assigned conversations" in the inbox settings, they see only what is assigned to them.
How do I change a teammate's password or suspend them?
In "Team Members" use "Change Password" beside the teammate, or open their edit page and switch "Status" off to stop their access.
