Order-confirmation tools in Egypt 2026 — dedicated tool or platform, and how to decide

The three shapes of WhatsApp COD confirmation tools, an honest category table, and a way to decide by order volume — including when a dedicated tool is the right call.

The short answer

An order-confirmation tool sends the customer a WhatsApp message after a cash-on-delivery order and waits for a "confirm" or "cancel" tap before the order ships. In Egypt these tools come in three shapes: a single-purpose tool that does confirmation alone, a tool that grew and added a bot and an inbox, and a full conversation platform in which confirmation is one item.

The decision rests not on "which is best" but on two questions: how many orders a month, and whether confirmation alone is what you need. At a small volume with one need, a dedicated tool is a better decision than any platform — and we say so at the top of this page rather than the bottom.

What an order-confirmation tool is, and why you need one

Cash on delivery is the dominant payment method in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and it carries one well-known problem: the order that goes out and comes back because the customer did not open the door, changed their mind, or typed a wrong number. Every return costs you shipping both ways and days of capital locked in a box in transit. A confirmation tool cuts the largest part of this before it starts: it asks the customer on WhatsApp "do you confirm your order?" before anything is printed, so only what was confirmed ships.

The question goes out on WhatsApp before anything is printed, and the status lands in your store by itself

We have written about the causes and the fix in detail in the guide to reducing COD returns, and about what one return costs your store in the returns calculator. This page is about the question that comes after both: which kind of tool to buy.

The three shapes on the market

We will name no companies here. Names change and their prices change faster; what stays put is the categories. Every capability we attribute to "some tools" is one that actually exists on the Egyptian market, not a supposition.

Shape one: the single-purpose tool

It does one thing: the order arrives from your store, a WhatsApp message goes out, the customer taps a button, and the order status is written back to your store as confirmed or cancelled. It usually connects Shopify, WooCommerce and Easy Orders, and anything else through a webhook.

Within this shape there is a wide spread. Some tools start with a free tier of a few dozen messages a month, enough for a store that is just beginning. Some go past confirmation in the direction of logistics: they connect couriers so the waybill is created automatically after confirmation, offer the customer prepaid checkout with a discount at the moment they confirm, and place an automated phone call to whoever never read the message. Those three we do not do.

Shape two: the tool that grew

It started as a confirmation tool and then added what its customers asked for after confirmation: a bot that answers price and availability questions from rules or preset replies, a shared team inbox, WhatsApp template broadcasts, and reporting. It stays built around the order: its starting point is an order that arrived from the store, not a conversation a customer opened from a comment or an ad.

This is the shape closest to a platform, and what remains different is the channels — Instagram, Messenger, Facebook comments — and the depth of the reply: whether the bot reads your real stock at the moment of the question, or answers from fixed text.

Shape three: the full conversation platform

Confirmation here is one item among many. The number that sends the confirmation is the same one that answers when the customer asks, reads the catalogue and stock from your store, recovers the abandoned cart, and works on Instagram, Messenger and Facebook comments in the same inbox. This is the shape we belong to, alongside global platforms such as WATI and respond.io — with the difference that our agent understands Egyptian and Gulf dialect and answers in it.

And it costs more than a tool, which is natural: you are buying a whole customer-service desk, not a button. If you do not need what comes after confirmation, you are paying for what you will not use.

Four rows here favour the dedicated tool over us: the waybill, prepaid checkout, the automated call and the free tier. We do none of them today, and we will not suggest a workaround for something another product does directly.

How to decide

  1. Count your monthly orders

At a few dozen orders a month, a dedicated tool's free tier is the answer and nothing else is — no paid subscription pays for itself out of a handful of returns. At a few hundred, the price of a paid tool enters the equation and still comes in under a platform. At thousands, the question stops being price and becomes time: how many hours your team spends answering what comes after the confirmation.

  2. Ask: do your customers reply to the confirmation?

Open your last fifty confirmation conversations. If they tap the button and that is the end of it, a confirmation tool is enough. If they write back — about a size, an address, a delivery date — you need something that answers, and that is not what the dedicated tool sells; the tool that grew answers from fixed text, not from your stock.

  3. Ask: where do your customers come from?

If every sale comes through the store then the order is the starting point, and these tools are built around the order. If part of it comes from a comment on a post, an Instagram message or an ad that opens WhatsApp, those are conversations with no order yet — they never pass through a confirmation tool at all, and they need a platform.

  4. Ask: do you need the waybill, the prepaid checkout or the call?

If yes, some dedicated tools do them and we do not. Choose from that category, and ask the tool for a live demo on your own store rather than a pricing page.

  5. Try it on real orders before you pay

Whatever you chose, run it on one week of real orders and measure three numbers: the share who confirmed, the share who cancelled, and the share who never replied. The third number decides which shape you need, and the next section explains why.

Five questions that decide the kind of tool you need before you pay for any

Where we sit, and what we measured

ArabyBot is a conversation platform — the third shape. WhatsApp order confirmation is one item inside it: the order arrives from Easy Orders, Salla, WooCommerce, Shopify or Zid, the confirmation goes out after a delay you set in minutes, and the status is written back to your store. The practical difference is that the number sending the confirmation is the same one that answers when the customer replies, reads your catalogue and stock, and works on Instagram, Messenger and Facebook comments in the same inbox, with a native mobile app for the team. Prices are on the pricing page: the WhatsApp plan starts at $40 a month, which is 1,000 EGP or 120 SAR.

The number we measured: people do not cancel, they go quiet

Across 11,694 confirmation messages actually sent on our platform: about half were confirmed, only five in a thousand pressed cancel, and the rest — roughly half — never answered at all.

This number matters when choosing a tool: the cancel button is almost never pressed, so a tool's value is not in catching cancellations but in what it does with the silent half — does it ask again after a few hours, does it call, does an agent answer when the customer asks instead of tapping. And plainly about its size: 98% of those messages are one store, so it is not a market rate and we will not present it as one. The full report, with its limits, is here.

Frequently asked

1

Is a dedicated tool actually cheaper than a platform?

Usually, yes. Some dedicated tools start with a free tier of a few dozen messages a month and reach a few thousand EGP at high volume. Our plan that includes WhatsApp starts at $40 (1,000 EGP, 120 SAR). If confirmation is all you need, you are paying us for channels and an agent you will not use.

2

What do some dedicated tools do that a platform does not?

Three real ones that exist at some of them: courier integrations so the waybill is created automatically after confirmation, prepaid checkout at the moment of confirmation with a discount offered to the customer, and an automated phone call to whoever never opened the WhatsApp message at all. We do none of the three today.

3

So when is a confirmation tool not enough?

The moment the customer replies. A confirmation message opens a conversation, and in it the customer asks "do you have a bigger size?" or "can I change the address?" — and a confirmation tool has nobody to answer. And when you also sell from Facebook comments and Instagram DMs, because those conversations never pass through an order at all.

4

Can I run a confirmation tool and a platform on the same number?

No. A single WhatsApp number is registered with one provider on the Cloud API at any moment. On two numbers, yes — but most people who try end up choosing one, because two numbers means the customer sees two identities for one shop.

5

When should the confirmation message go out?

Shortly after the order, while the customer still remembers placing it. If your store ships the same day, leave enough of a window for the reply before the waybill is printed. Ours is a delay configurable in minutes from the confirmation settings.
