How do I connect a WhatsApp number to ArabyBot?
The short answer
The number is connected to the official WhatsApp Business API from the “Phone numbers” page of the ArabyBot dashboard, through Meta’s own signup window, with no keys to copy by hand. You need a Facebook account with access to your business on Meta, and either a number running on the WhatsApp Business app or a new number not registered on any WhatsApp app that can receive a verification code.
The steps in the ArabyBot dashboard
- Open the phone numbers page
In the sidebar of the app.arabybot.com dashboard open “WhatsApp tools”, then “Phone numbers”. Connecting is for the account owner only; team members do not see the button.
- Press “Connect a WhatsApp number”
The dashboard asks one question: does the number run on the WhatsApp Business app on your phone right now? Choose “Yes, it runs on the app” to keep it on your phone alongside the bot, or “No, a new number or one not used on WhatsApp” to run it through ArabyBot only.
- Check the conditions, then continue
Before Meta’s window the dashboard lists what each path needs. For a new number: it must not be registered on any WhatsApp app, the phone or SIM must be with you to receive the code by SMS or call, and inside Meta you choose “Start with a new WhatsApp phone number”. Press “OK, continue” and keep the dashboard page open.
- Finish Meta’s steps
In Meta’s window: pick the business account, then the WhatsApp Business account, enter and verify the number, then grant the permissions. When it finishes you see “WhatsApp connected successfully!” and the number appears under “Connected phone numbers”.
- Register the number if asked
If the number’s card shows a “Register” button, it is not yet registered on the Cloud API and cannot send: press it, request the 6-digit code by SMS or call, then set a new 6-digit PIN and keep it safe, because Meta will not show it again.
- Put the agent on the number
Open the “AI Hub”, press “Launch” on the agent’s card, then the WhatsApp tab, and select the number. Each number has one active agent.
What you should know
- Your plan sets how many numbers you can connect. Past that limit the connection still completes at Meta, but the number does not appear in the dashboard until you upgrade or disconnect another one, and the dashboard names the number when this happens.
- A new number must not be registered on any WhatsApp app, regular or Business; if it is, Meta will ask you to remove it from the app first. To keep it on your phone, choose the “runs on the app” path instead.
- If your number already runs on another WhatsApp API platform, use “Move a number from another platform” on the same page, so the number keeps its templates and data.
- Meta’s WhatsApp message fees are paid to Meta directly, from the payment method on your Meta business account, and are separate from your ArabyBot plan. Details in the 2026 service messages guide.
Related questions
The number is connected but no messages arrive. Why?
First check for a “Register” button on the number’s card. If Meta did not register ArabyBot on the WhatsApp account, the dashboard says so: open Meta Business Settings, then WhatsApp accounts, the account, Partners, give ArabyBot access, and connect again.
Can one account connect more than one WhatsApp number?
Yes, up to your plan’s limit. Each number has its own card, and each can be answered by a different agent.
