How do I connect Google Sheets to ArabyBot so the bot writes orders and data?
The short answer
You connect a Google account from "API Channels" → "Google Sheet" with "Sign in with Google", then create a sheet or add an existing one by its ID. Then, in "Google Sheets jobs", you tell the AI agent what to collect and in which sheet, such as the customer's name, number and order, and it records each as a row without changing how it talks to the customer.
The steps in the ArabyBot dashboard
- Connect a Google account
In the sidebar open "API Channels" under "Integrations", then the "Google Sheet" card, press "Sign in with Google" and approve the permissions in Google's window.
- Add the sheet
Press "Create New Sheet", choose the account, type the sheet title and the column names under "Add Header" in English letters, or "Add Existing Sheet" and paste the sheet ID, the part of the sheet link between /d/ and /edit.
- Open the AI agent
In "AI Hub" press "Edit" on the agent card and go to the "Capabilities" step.
- Add a Google Sheets job
Under "Google Sheets jobs" press "Add a job", pick the sheet in "Choose a sheet…", and write the instruction in your own words, such as "collect the name and phone of every customer asking about new offers". You can add up to ten jobs.
- Log unanswered questions (optional)
Under "Unknown Answer" choose "Sheet" and pick the sheet, so a question the agent could not answer is written in a row with the customer's name and number, while the agent keeps replying.
- Save and test
Save the agent, then send a test message containing the data and check that the row appears. The tab the agent writes to shows "The AI agent writes here" on the Google Sheets page.
What you should know
- Connecting is by signing in with a Google account only; you do not share the sheet with a service email, and an added sheet must belong to the connected Google account.
- The agent writes under the existing columns and never invents new ones, can update an existing row instead of duplicating it, and when it needs a new tab it creates one rather than changing an existing tab.
- If a customer leaves their number and the agent did not file the row its job asks for, the system writes it itself.
- The agent can read the sheet and answer from a price or quantity in it, but it reads up to 200 rows of a tab, so it does not suit searching a large sheet.
- There is no automatic sync of connected Shopify or WooCommerce store orders to the sheet; what gets written is what the agent collects in conversations.
- The number of Google accounts you can connect follows your package, and if Google asks for approval again, reconnect from the same Google Sheets page.
Related questions
Can the bot read prices from the sheet?
Yes, for small sheets: the "Read Sheet" tool under "Built-in Tools" in the "Capabilities" step reads a tab's columns and up to 200 rows. For a large catalogue, connect your store instead.
Are Shopify or WooCommerce orders written to the sheet automatically?
No. The store connection powers order confirmation, notifications and product reading, and does not copy orders to Google Sheets. The sheet receives what the AI agent collects in conversations.
